The B.C. coast is home to the first established Grizzley bear sanctuary, in a remote inlet north of Prince Rupert, BC.
Home Bay, BC is said to be home to the Kermode Bear also called the “Spirit” bear due to its white fur despite being a subspecies of black bear. B.C. is the only place known to inhabit this mystical bear.
The B.C. coast hosts the world’s largest gathering of wintering bald eagles.
