MASTER 500 / 150 GT
Project based with opportunity for full time.
Opportunities: You will act as captain or mate on the research vessels Richardson Point, Sea Dog or the Jet Boat on a variety of projects which will require you to ensure the safety of all personnel aboard. The vessels are used for hydrographic, oceanographic and marine science data collection using a wide array of equipment.
Responsibilities: Safe navigation, communication with shore staff, station keeping, vessel maintenance and record keeping. You will be responsible for assigning crew duties and coordinating activities with the science/technical crew to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Certification: 500 / 150 GT Master Certification // ROC-M Certificate // 2 Years Minimum Experience on the BC Coast // valid Marine Advanced First Aid Certificate // MED (BST - STCW) // Certification

MATE 150 GT
Project based with opportunity for full time.
Opportunities: You will report to the ships Master, assume responsibilities when relieving the ships Master, perform safety audits and reviews, perform ship log entries, and coordinate crew and duties.
Responsibilities: Vessel maintenance including (repairs, painting, vessel mobilization and demobilization), cleaning, cooking, operating data collection equipment and assisting client activities.

Opportunities: SER is seeking deckhands to carry out day to day activities. Work on any of the vessels in our fleet based on project requirements and scheduling.

Opportunities: As a Hydrographic Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in mapping and analyzing marine environments.
Responsibilities: You will report to the ships Master, assume responsibilities when relieving the ships Master, perform safety audits and reviews, perform ship log entries, and coordinate crew and duties. Our vessels are typically used for towing underwater equipment, and maintaining position to obtain data at specific locations. MARINE BIOLOGIST
Project based with opportunity for full time.
Opportunities: SER is seeking marine biologists with an appetite for the outdoors and a love of the BC coast. You are motivated, detail oriented, a team player and aren’t afraid of getting dirty. SER collects marine data of all types using a wide array of specialized equipment aboard our research vessels.
Responsibilities: You will be responsible for the calibration, operation and maintenance of scientific equipment, preparing and preserving samples, keeping meticulous records, organizing and preparing lab paperwork including COC’s and other QC lab protocols as well as examine and classify various samples onboard and development of reports back at the office.
Certification: Degree In Science (or Equivalent) // Possess MED A3 // valid Marine Advanced First Aid Certificate // Transport Canada Medical Examination Certificate
ACOUSTIC TECHNICIAN
Project based with opportunity for full time.
Opportunities: As an Acoustic Technician aboard our marine research vessel, you'll have the unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge marine projects that contribute to important environmental research and the advancement of marine science.
Responsibilities: Install, calibrate, and operate a variety of acoustic sensors and systems (e.g., echo sounders, hydrophones) for data collection in underwater environments. Participate in offshore expeditions, collect real-time acoustic data, and contribute to the analysis and reporting of findings.
